In modern concrete city, urban construction destroyed sustainability of water system. City develop the underground pipeline network, stormwater usually is treated as waste and discharged into municipal sewage systems. However, some times this means are unable to cope with elasticity of rainwater that lead to urban flood. Meanwhile, that brings the problem of environmental pollution and loses a highly valuable water resource. Therefore, 'Sponge City' was presented in China as a new water management design concept. Sponge City focus on the strategy of Low Impact Development (LID) and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS), using 'urban sponge elements' including rivers, lakes, ponds and other water systems solve the drainage problem and supplement groundwater. In Malmö, Sweden, a reconstruction project of a former industrial district was initiated known as City of Tomorrow in 2001. The reconstruction of Bo01 developed a sustainable mixed-use residential district focus on sustainable urban development. Malmö taken some active Strategies to sustainable city construction through the three main ways including energy conservation, management of drainage system and Sustainable transportation. 1.Management of drainage system Bo01 created a stormwater management system in order to protection of surrounding seawater quality.
