Urban Landscape Reconstruction
Rapid
urbanization trends led to unsustainable environmental demand, thus city need a
balance development between ecosystem and construction of urbanization for
urban sustainability.
While
the traditional means of ecological reconstruction can not provide a solution
for the human environment and ecological functions. Landscape ecology points
out that Ecological reconstruction is a kind of intervention of ecological
restoration. Ecological functions can be reinforced and created through the
physical structure of the landscape. That means using the flexibility of the
ecosystem, take human measures to help the damaged ecological environment
gradually restored, or make the ecosystem to the direction of good circulation.
Such as restoring the original ecosystem, protecting soil erosion, adjusting
the microclimate, purifying the environment, and maintaining the ecological
functions of biodiversity. At present, the urban ecological reconstruction
mainly relies on the ecosystem self-organization ability and self-regulation
ability, artificial adjustment and external intervention as a supplement. The
purpose of ecosystem restoration is to continually repair and improve the
functioning of the ecosystem, but not to fully restore the ecosystem to its
original state.
In
general, the terminology "ecological reconstruction" is a description
to the solutions for disturbed ecology. Ecological functions can be restored
and created through the urban landscape reconstruction, that generally can be
sorted into four categories (table 1) including rehabilitation, reclamation,
recovery and restoration.
